Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), Kolkata Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D Programs 2016

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program in Experimental Physics and Biophysical Sciences starting from March 2016. The program includes a pre-Ph.D course work, popularly known as post M.Sc. program. 

Eligibility Conditions

• Candidates with NET-JRF (not Lectureship) qualification only are eligible for Ph.D program.

For Ph.D in Experimental Physics

• Masters’ degree in Physics.

For Ph.D in Biophysical Sciences

• Masters’ degree in Physics or Chemistry with Life Sciences at 10+2 level or masters’ degree in Life Sciences with Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level.

Selection Procedure

• Selection will be based on the basis of past academic records (HS or equivalent, B.Sc. and M.Sc.) and NET rank. The short-listed candidates will be called for an interview process to be held at SINP during middle of February 2016 for the final selection.

Fellowships

• The amount of fellowship, contingency grant, HRA etc. will be as per CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR rules (SINP will take no responsibility for such funds for students selected in this scheme).
• Limited hostel accommodation will also be available.
