DSC Conducts 22nd Orientation Programme
The formal inauguration of the XXII Postgraduate Diploma Program in Communication was held, at Alliance Francaise, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Shubho Sengupta - Executive Vice President, JWT, Delhi and the Guest of Honour was Mr. Samil Malhotra, Vice President- Sales, Getit Infomedia (Askme.com). The day witnessed a formal induction program, followed by an ice-breaking session organised by PGDPC XXI.
Welcoming the students to the world of Advertising, Mr. Sengupta pointed out that, we are at the crossroads of a communication revolution. He said that “the present is challenging – with fleeting interests, fickle consumers, fragmented media, multiple screens and a disdain for brand messages”. There are no rules, the future will be more chaotic, prepare yourself adequately, he advised. “Push yourself beyond limits. Use this program like a gym membership,” said Mr. Samil Malhotra, who also explained to the students that “DSC is a Sarai, a place to enrich yourself”.
Prof. Ramola Kumar, Dean said she sees “a brave new world” and went on say “we are all living multiple lives, achieving multiple things. Every moment is a war. Experience and envision your own war, your future”.
Awards were handed out to deserving students. The Semester Scholarship went to Ms. Aanchal Kapoor and Admission Scholarship for an essay on “Cinema that changed the world” went to Vipula Sharma. The day ended with an ice-breaker session for the new students, who were embarking on their new journey.
