BE Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is a four-year Aeronautical Engineering course. Aircraft maintenance engineers are responsible for keeping the aircraft in perfect flying conditions. They are involved in the repair and maintenance of aircraft. The course deals with the design and manufacture of aircraft while AME trains one for servicing the aircraft. The Bachelor of Engineering course Aircraft Maintenance Engineering teaches the fundamentals of propulsion, electronics, and automatic control guidance, the theory of aerodynamics, structural analysis, material science, and fluid dynamics.
Aircraft maintenance engineering is not a degree or a diploma course, but a training program. On completion of the training, a license is issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The Bachelor of Engineering degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is a multidisciplinary program, built upon a strong foundation of the sciences, mathematics, and ‘hands-on’ aircraft maintenance fundamentals, designed to meet the needs and interests of students who want to excel and develop a career as a knowledgeable and competent aircraft maintenance engineer.
