BE Automobile Engineering or Automotive Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering in Automobile Engineering is an Under-Graduate Automobile Engineering course. The duration of the Automobile Engineering course is four years and the course deals with the study of designing, manufacturing, and operating automobiles like buses, trucks, cars, etc, and their respective engineering subsystems.

The Bachelor of Engineering in Automobile Engineering also offers specialization in aerodynamics, alternative fuels, chassis, electronics, emissions, ergonomics, manufacturing, materials, motorsport, power train, rapid prototyping, vehicle, and pedestrian safety, or supply chain management. After the completion of the degree, the applicants can find many job options in various automobile sectors.

BE Automobile Engineering Eligibility

  • Aspiring students should have passed the 10+2 examination or equivalent examination from a recognized Board
  • 10+2 must be qualified with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects mandatorily
  • Should possess a minimum of 55% aggregate marks at the intermediate level
  • Some of the very reputed colleges also conduct entrance exams for admissions to their colleges
  • Selection to the BE in Automobile Engineering degree course is based on marks secured in the final merit i.e., total marks aggregated in the final exams of 10+2 and the entrance exams.

Few Entrance Exams

Clearing the different national and state-level entrance exams such as

  • All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE);
  • Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) etc;
  • A Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) in the country. The entrance to the IITs can be secured only after clearing this JEE.
  • An examination is also conducted by the Associate Membership of the Institute of Engineers (AMIE), which enables working people in the private/ public sector and diploma holders to acquire a Bachelor's degree in Automobile Engineering through distance education. The degree awarded is considered equivalent to a regular BE in Automobile Engineering degree.
