B.Sc Applied Statistics and Analytics or Bachelor of Science in Applied Statistics and Analytics is a three-year undergraduate degree program. This Applied Statistics and Analytics course is meant to provide students with an understanding of the applications of statistics to diverse areas beginning at the undergraduate level.

The Applied Statistics and Analytics course emphasizes the general growth of a student's computational and analytical skills, as well as the expansion of his/her knowledge base through an interdisciplinary course. In the first year, the course consists of lectures and practicals on the fundamental principles of Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, and Computer Programming. Moving on to the second year, students are introduced to the fundamental disciplines of Statistics as well as selected papers from Economics and Mathematics.

Beginning in the third semester, students must complete a project in any of the basic statistical subjects taught that semester. Students in the fifth year will be exposed to essential papers in marketing analytics and financial risk analytics, as well as key statistical courses. The project must be completed in one of the basic statistics papers. The subject of Data Science is presented in the last semester through statistical modeling papers from Marketing Analytics and Risk Analytics. Students are expected to complete a Data Science project.

B.Sc Applied Statistics and Analytics Eligibility

  • The aspiring students must have qualified for their 10+2 examination in any stream with Mathematics / Statistics / Mathematics & Statistics (Science / Commerce / Arts) or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized Board.
  • The candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks at their Intermediate level.
