B.Sc (Hons) Genetics or Bachelor of Science Honors in Genetics is an Under-Graduate Genetics course. Genetics, a discipline of biology, is the science of genes, heredity, and variation in living organisms. Genetics deals with the molecular structure and function of genes, with gene behavior in the context of a cell or organism, patterns of inheritance from parent to offspring, and gene distribution, variation, and change in populations.

Bachelor of Science Honors in Genetics is generally three academic year course and it may be provided on a part-time basis by certain institutes. The syllabus for the Honors course in Genetics is divided into six semesters and is an important and valuable course that opens many scopes after its successful completion.

B.Sc (Hons) Genetics Eligibility

  • The candidates must have completed their 10+2 examination or its equivalent exam in the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as one of the main subjects from a recognized Board.
  • The marks of admission and other criteria for this course may vary from college to college.
