BTech (Hons) Chemical Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering Honours in Chemical Engineering is an Under-Graduate Chemical Engineering course. The duration of the Bachelor of Engineering Honours course in Chemical Engineering is four years and it combines the study and application of the principles of chemistry and engineering to solve problems involving the production or use of chemicals, thus building a bridge between science and manufacturing.

The Bachelor of Engineering Honours degree in Chemical Engineering provides thorough theoretical knowledge in the development and operation of chemical processing plants, as well as the equipment used in these plants. The Bachelor of Engineering Honours degree program in Chemical Engineering is a very valuable and career-orienting one that opens a lot of jobs both in the private and government sectors for the candidates.

BTech (Hons) Chemical Engineering Eligibility

  • The students should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics along with clearing the different national and state level entrance exams such as the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE), Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT), etc, conducted by different universities and colleges across the country.
  • Selection to the Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Chemical Engineering) degree course is based on marks secured in the final merit i.e. total marks aggregated in the final exams of 10+2 and the entrance exams.
  • A Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) in the country. The entrance to the IITs can be secured only after clearing this JEE.
  • An examination is also conducted by the Associate Membership of the Institute of Engineers (AMIE), which enables working people in the private/public sector and diploma holders to acquire a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering through distance education. The degree awarded is considered equivalent to a regular B.Tech Hons. (Chemical Engineering) degree.
