B.Tech (Silk Technology) or Bachelor of Technology in Silk Technology is an Under-Graduate Chemical Engineering course. Silk Technology is a branch of textile engineering which deals with the technology of producing silk from various sources such as worms and other artificial sources of silk which includes various chemicals as well. Students are mainly taught about the properties of the fabric, the manufacturing process, dyeing and treating the material, and converting it into the finished product, ready for the market during their course.

Some of the main subjects to be taught under the course are fiber science; yarn manufacture, yarn structure and properties; fabric manufacture and fabric structure; textile testing, and dyeing. The duration of the Bachelor of Technology course in Silk Technology is four years and it is an important one that opens many job scopes after its successful completion.
