M.A (Archaeology) or Master of Arts in Archaeology is a Post-Graduate Archaeology course. Archaeology is the study of human history and prehistory via site excavation and artifact examination. The Master of Arts in Archaeology program provides appropriate education and training in the recovery, analysis, and interpretation of archaeological materials and context while also ensuring adequate background in one or more traditional cognate fields such as classics, art history, anthropology, and history.
Archaeologists need to spend many hours and days camping and doing fieldwork at laboratories and dig sites, hence the Master of Arts degree in Archaeology is in high demand. An archaeologist must thus be patient enough to work on a project that may take months or even years to accomplish.
