ME Computer Integrated Manufacturing or Master of Engineering in Computer Integrated Manufacturing is a two-year Post-Graduate Computer Engineering course. Computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) is the manufacturing approach of using computers to control the entire production process.

Computer Integrated Manufacturing, known as CIM, is the phrase used to describe the complete automation of a manufacturing plant, with all processes functioning under computer control and digital information tying them together. This is the complete automation of a manufacturing facility such as a factory. All functions are under computer control. This starts with computer-aided design, followed by computer-aided manufacture, followed by automated storage and distribution. One integrated computer system controls all that happens.

The Master of Engineering course in Computer Integrated Manufacturing includes CAD / CAM, computer-aided design / computer-aided manufacturing, CAPP, computer-aided process planning, CNC, computer numerical control machine tools, DNC, direct numerical control machine tools, FMS, flexible machining systems, ASRS, automated storage and retrieval systems, AGV, automated guided vehicles, use of robotics and automated conveyance, computerized scheduling and production control, and a business system integrated by a common database.

ME Computer Integrated Manufacturing Eligibility

  • Aspiring students must have passed their Graduation such as a Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology degree from a recognized University.
  • The candidates should have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or equivalent in their Bachelor's.
  • Some renowned universities and institutes conduct an entrance examination for admission.
