Ph.D. Computational Linguistics or Doctor of Philosophy in Computational Linguistics is Doctorate Computer Applications course. The Doctorate is normally pursued in areas such as phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, historical linguistics, African linguistics, computational linguistics, applied linguistics (including second-language acquisition), and sociolinguistics. Other concentrations, including a combined degree with cognitive science, are also possible with the approval of the department. The Computational Linguistics concentration area educates the student in the theory, technologies and applications of Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing (NLP). The student must demonstrate proficiency, in the basics of discrete mathematics or mathematical linguistics.
