ME Physical Metallurgical Engineering or Master of Engineering in Physical Metallurgical Engineering is a postgraduate Metallurgical Engineering program. Metallurgical engineering is the study of metal extraction from ores, as well as the creation, manufacture, and use of metallic products. It is based on scientific and engineering principles and can be divided into process metallurgy, which is concerned with extracting metals from their ores to produce refined alloys, and physical metallurgy, which is concerned with metal shaping, alloying, heat treatment, joining, corrosion protection, and testing.
The Master of Engineering program in Physical Metallurgical Engineering covers a wide range of metal-related topics. Physical metallurgy, extractive metallurgy, and mineral processing are the three primary disciplines of this major. The primary goal of this course is to establish a physical foundation that connects the structure of materials with their characteristics, with a concentration on metals. With this understanding, the concepts of alloy design and microstructural engineering are presented, which relate processing and thermodynamics to metal structure and attributes.
