MPA (Theatre Arts) or Master of Performing Arts in Theatre Arts is a Post-Graduate Acting, Dance, and Drama course. A theatre is a structure that houses theatrical plays or motion picture shows. The Theatre Arts course offers full-time training in both theoretical and practical aspects of theatre, including acting, movement, voice, production, speech, singing, improvisation, theatre games, yoga, mime, text-study style, character-building, stage make-up, and the use and control of imagination. The Theatrical Arts degree also provides an understanding of regional theatre forms, with an emphasis on their creative use in a current context. The Master of Performing Arts study in Theatre Arts lasts two years and gives several options upon completion.

MPA (Theatre Arts) Eligibility

  • Aspiring candidates must have passed their Graduation degrees such as a BA / BSc / BCom degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized University.
  • The candidates should have secured a minimum of 40% aggregate marks or equivalent in their Bachelor's.
  • The candidates must have a minimum of two years of stage experience.
  • Candidates who are dumb, deaf or blind or stammer, or Physically Handicapped are not eligible.
  • In some of the reputed institutes, there is an entrance examination for admission.
