M.A. (Punjabi)

M.Phil. Punjabi or Master of Philosophy in Punjabi is a postgraduate Punjabi language course. Punjabi can be specified as Eastern Punjabi to distinguish it from Western Punjabi spoken in Pakistan, which is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by inhabitants of the historical Punjab region (northwestern India and in Pakistan). The duration of M.Phil. (Punjabi) is mostly of two academic years but it may vary as per the rules and regulations of different institutions. The syllabus for the course is divided into two semesters. M.Phil. (Punjabi) is an important and job oriented course and provides many career opportunities.

M.Phil. Punjabi Eligibility

  • Aspiring students should have passed a master's degree.
  • Candidates need to acquire 55% marks in the subject chosen for M.Phil. course or an allied subject at the postgraduate level to be considered eligible for the course.
  • A written test may be conducted to assess the candidate’s knowledge. Those who qualify in the written test will be required to appear in an interview.
  • The admission procedure and mode of selection for admission to Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) through distance learning, however, may vary from one Institute to another.
