M.Sc Mathematics and Computing or Master of Science in Mathematics and Computing is a two-year Post-Graduate degree program in the domain of Mathematics and Computing. This Mathematics and Computing program blends relevant mathematics and computer science courses covering theoretical, computational, and practical aspects. Whereas the core mathematics courses are aimed at building a strong foundation in the subject, the laboratory-based courses give exposure and training in application-oriented practical subjects. Students are exposed to advanced research topics through electives and mandatory one-semester project work.
Candidates are trained in basic mathematics, numerical computation, and computer science. The computing training gives the students expertise in advanced IT skills such as Java programming, Mathematics, C++, and internet systems. The students will be required to undertake a project on mathematics or computing and its applications in the above areas to develop their communication and presentational skills. This Mathematics and Computing program prepares the students for careers in research, software industries, and scientific organizations.
M.Sc Mathematics and Computing Eligibility
- Candidates who have completed their Graduation i.e., Bachelor of Science in Mathematics or Honors or equivalent from a recognized University are eligible.
- Should possess at least 50-55% aggregate marks at the Graduation level
- Some of the very reputed universities and colleges conduct entrance examinations for admission
