Doctor of Philosophy in Urdu

Ph.D. Urdu or Doctor of Philosophy in Urdu is a Doctorate Urdu language course. Ph.D. program is a four or five years course depending on the submission of the thesis at the end. Urdu is a language that studies literature, linguistics and philosophy of it. Students under this degree are required to prepare a detailed thesis on any of the topics such as Urdu Poetry, Drama, Urdu Fiction, Literary Criticism and Urdu Literary History, etc. The duration for the course in some cases may vary depending on the respective institute. Ph.D. is a deep study of the subject concerned. After passing the course they have so many careers in various places.

Ph.D. Urdu Eligibility

• Aspiring candidates having 2nd class Master’s Degree in the subject concerned with at least 55% marks with two years teaching experience in a degree college or two years of teaching/research experience in the subject concerned in a University department or a recognized institute of higher learning or qualified in UGC National level test for JRF/Lectureship. OR
• They should have M.Phil. Degree in the subject concerned and second class Master's Degree in the subject concerned with at least 55% marks. OR
• Also, applicants who have 1^st class Master’s degree in any subject with 2 years of teaching experience in a degree college or two years of teaching/research experience in the subject concerned or closely related area in a University department or recognised institute of higher learning or a minimum of 3 publications in a recognised refereed journal in the subject in which admission is sought.

Admission is given on the bases of a rank obtained in the Entrance Examination conducted by the University. The notification for the course comes generally appears along with the admission notification for other courses.
