ASRB National Eligibility Test (NET) 2024 - Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board Combined Agricultural Research Services and National Eligibility Test acronym as ASRB Combined ARS and NET (Preliminary) Exam is conducted by The Agriculture Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) to decide the eligibility for Lecturers/Assistant professors by the State Agriculture Universities (SAUs) / Agricultural Universities (AUs) and to decide the eligible candidates for ARS 2024 (Main) Examination.

The candidates declared successful in ARS 2024 (Main) Examination followed by viva-voce will be recommended for appointment as Scientists in Agriculture Research Service of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in the Pay Band-III of Rs.15600-39100/- plus Research Grade Pay Rs. 6000/-.

Educational Qualification

For ASRB ARS & NET (Preliminary) Exam

• Aspiring candidates must have a Master's degree or equivalent in the concerned subject from a recognized university board.

Age Limits

• For ARS - Candidates should be between 21-32 years of age as of 01.08.2021 (Age relaxation as per the rules)
• For NET - the minimum age is 21 years as of 01.08.2021 (No upper age limit)

Nationality: A candidate must be either:

• A citizen of India, or
• A subject of Nepal, or
• A subject of Bhutan, or
• A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia, or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued by the Government of India.

Note: Reservations as per governmental norms are applicable regarding age limits and job vacancies.

ASRB ARS & NET Exam consists of two stages i.e. Preliminary Exam followed by Main Exam and Vica Voca as given below.

Preliminary Exam

Note: 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in Prelim ARS Examination. This is a Qualifying exam and marks scored will not be counted for final selection.

Main Exam: The Main Exam consists of three parts as given below:

Viva Voca: 60 Marks

The candidates clearing Mains Examination will be called for Viva-voce in the ratio 1:5 subject to a minimum of 55% are obtained by General / OBC candidates and 50% marks are obtained by SC / ST / PC candidates in ARS Mains Examination (Subjective type).

ASRB ARS & NET Exam 2024 Dates 

ARS Preliminary Exam is generally held in the month of April/May.

Prospective candidates can apply online through the website: http://asrb.org.in/ and follow the instructions given there.

Number of Attempts

The number of attempts for appearing in the Agricultural Research Services Examination will be limited to FOUR for all candidates(whether M.Sc / Ph.D.) including the in-service candidates of ICAR. However, this restriction will not apply to SC and ST candidates, who are eligible otherwise.

ASRB National Eligibility Test (NET) 2024 Fee

Prospective candidates have to pay Rs. 480/- (Rs. Four hundred eighty only) plus a registration charge of Rs. 20/- (Rs. Twenty only).

Note: All candidates will pay a registration fee of Rs. 20/-

Imp: Women candidates and the candidates belonging to scheduled caste/scheduled tribe/physically challenged categories are exempted from payment of examination fee only. No fee exemption is, however, available to OBC candidates and they are required to pay the registration fee in full. Details of fee charges to be paid:
