ASRB NET 2014 - Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board National Eligibility Test acronym as ASRB NET is conducted twice in a year for selecting candidates for determining eligibility for Lecturer/ Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs).
ASRB NET Exam Eligibility
1. Educational Qualification
For admission to Agricultural Research Service/National Eligibility Test a candidate must have a Master's degree or equivalent in the concerned subject
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years as on the respective year of the exam.
3. Nationality: A candidate must be either:
A citizen of India, or
A subject of Nepal, or
A subject of Bhutan, or
A Tibetan refugee who came over to Indian before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Reservations as per governmental norms are applicable regarding age limits and job vacancies

ASRB NET Pattern
ASRB NET will be one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions to be solved in 2 (Two) Hrs. Each question carries One mark. These 150 questions shall be derived from the respective discipline in which the candidate has opted to appear.

Note: 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in the NET examination.
ASRB NET Allowed Number of Attempts
The number of attempts for appearing in the National Eligibility Test Examination will be limited to FIVE for all candidates (whether M.Sc./Ph.D.) including the in-service candidates of I.C.A.R. However, this restriction will not apply to SC and ST candidates, who are otherwise eligible.
Note: The number of attempts made by the candidates prior to National Eligibility Test Examination - 2012 will not be taken into account for counting the number of attempts made
Question paper will be available in both English or in Hindi.
Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write the answers for them. Only the visually Challenged and OH candidates will both arms affected may the allowed the help of an Scribe only with the prior permission of the Board.
The standard of paper will be that of a Master’s degree of an Indian University.

110012 on the application form available on ICAR Website www.icar.org.in or ASRB Website
www.asrb.org.in The application form should be filled up by the candidate in his / her own
handwriting only. A candidate must read the provisions contained in this Notification for NET
Examination – 2012 carefully and abide by the same. A candidate must fulfill all the conditions
of eligibility regarding age limits, educational qualifications etc. prescribed for admission to the
examination. The candidates are not required to attach the copies of the documents/certificates in
support of their candidature.
The envelopes containing the application form should be superscribed in bold letters as:

ASRB NET exam is held twice in a year in the months of January and June.
ASRB NET Exam Fee
The fee a given below must be paid through a Crossed Bank Draft only drawn in favour of The Secretary, A.S.R.B. and payable at New Delhi with the application form.
Candidates should write their name and address on the reverse of the Bank Draft. No other form of payment will be accepted by the Board.
