CA CPT - Chartered Accountant Common Proficiency Test commonly known as CA CPT Examination is conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for admitting aspiring students to the Chartered Accountancy course. The institute conducts the Chartered Accountant Common Proficiency Test (CA CPT) twice a year (June and December), in all the major cities throughout India.
This 200 marks, an objective type multiple choice questions, test is divided into two sessions of 2 Hr. duration each is conducted in two modes by the institute i.e.,
Paper Pencil Mode: Paper Pencil Mode of Examination is conducted in the morning session and evening sessions with each carrying two parts.
Online Registration Mode: For the Online Registration Mode of Examination, the students have to fill out an examination form Online, and then, this examination is held at various centers across India.

Imp: Common Proficiency Test will be an objective type multiple choice questions based examination. Candidates will be allowed to opt for the Hindi medium Question Paper Booklet for answering the questions. Detailed information will be found given in the Information Brochure.

Candidates can adopt any of the ONLINE or OFFLINE modes for the CPT Exam application.

Note: Since the cost of the Information brochure containing the Common Proficiency Test application form includes the examination fee, no separate fee is required to be remitted at the time of submitting the filled-in application form.
Common Proficiency Test application forms duly filled in may be sent so as to reach the Additional Secretary (Examinations) in New Delhi no later than the prescribed date.
For Online Mode
The candidates who fill up the examination application form online at http://icaiexam.icai.org and remit the fee online by using either VISA or MASTER Credit/Debit Card shall not be charged Rs. 500/- (i.e., cost of application form fee) in order to popularize filling-in of application form online.
For CA CPT Course
The registration and tuition fee is Rs. 6000/- which is to be paid at the time of submitting the fully filled-in application form for registration.
For CA CPT Exam
A student has to follow the examination notification to be issued by the Examination Department of the ICAI and apply in the prescribed form along with the examination fee of Rs. 1000/-. The examination department will announce the examination centers and issue admission cards.
CA CPT Exam is held twice a year in the months of June and December.
