SBI PO Exam 2024 Eligibility

Eligibility conditions for taking SBI Bank PO Exam Papers are as follows:


Educational Qualification

  • General candidates and others should have the first division in Graduation in any discipline with 65% or more marks
  • SC / ST / Physically Handicapped Candidates should have First Division in Graduation In any discipline with 60 % or more marks

OR

  • Degrees that are considered equivalent to graduation e.g. CA, ICWA, CS, as also qualifications in management like MBA / PGDBM, subject to fulfillment of criteria as regards division and marks as stipulated above.
  • In addition to the above, Proficiency in Computers and certificate of having completed training from a reputed institute is also essential.

 

Age Limits

  • Not below 21 years and not above 30 years. Relaxation in the upper age limit is as per rules for specified categories including SC / ST / OBC etc.

 

Nationality

  • A candidate must be either a citizen of India or one holding eligibility certificates issued by the Government of India.

 

SBI PO Exam 2024 Pattern

The SBI Bank Recruitment Exam consists of the following Three Phases of Selection.

 

Phase 1- Preliminary Exam

Preliminary Examination: Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

  • The preliminary exam will be an online exam consisting of Objective Multiple Choice Type of questions carrying 100 marks will be conducted online.
  • This test would be of 1 Hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

Important: Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing passing marks to be decided by the Bank. An adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 20 times the number of vacancies subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

 

Phase 2- Mains Exam

Objective Test

  • The Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Tests for 50 marks as given below.
  • Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online.
  • Candidates will have to answer the Descriptive test by typing on the computer.
  • Immediately after completion of the Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered.

Descriptive/Subjective 

  • The Descriptive Test of 1/2 hour duration with 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).
  • The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
  • Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in the objective test.


Phase 3- 
Group Discussion (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)

  • The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests and Descriptive Tests will be arranged in descending order in each category.
  • The adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by the Bank will be called for Group Discussion and Interview.
  • The qualifying marks in Group Discussion & Interview will be as decided by the Bank.


Final Selection

  • Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added to the selection.
  • Only marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II) will be added to the marks obtained in GD & Interview (Phase-III) for preparation of the final merit list.
  • The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately.
  • Marks secured by the candidates in the Written Test (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Discussion & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25.
  • The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Written Test and Group Discussion &Interview out of 100 for each category.
  • The selection will be made from the top merit-ranked candidates in each category.

The descriptive test is of qualifying nature. Candidates have to secure passing marks.  It is tested for those candidates who qualify in objective tests.

 

How to apply for SBI PO 2024 Exam?

  • Candidates, who fulfill the eligibility criteria and are willing to apply, can fill out the online application form available on the official link of SBI: http://www.sbi.co.in/user.htm 
  • The online application form will be filled in two parts i.e., Part I & Part II.
  • After the successful submission of the Part I Form, the system will generate a unique Registration No. with Password, which candidates should keep with them as it will be used for the further process.
  • In Part II of the Online Application Form, candidates have to make the fee payment through Challan or through Master Card / Debit Card / Credit card / Internet Banking.
  • After successful submission of the online application form, the system will generate an eReceipt (if online payment is made) and a completed application form, which candidates are required to print out and keep with them for future reference.
