About FORE School of Management

Foundation for Organizational Research and Education (FORE) is committed to the advancement of Management Education, Research, Training and Consultancy. Incorporated in 1981, as a non-profit institution, FORE has been working with industry and academia for developing new domains of managerial thought and education and contributing to building leaders in today's global business environment. Located in the heart of South Delhi, FORE provides contextual learning and helps in the development of students as thinking professionals, who have the ability to meet the future challenges of tomorrow's corporate leaders. The programmes develop multiple skills including managerial decision-making, problem-solving, analytical reasoning, communications, creativity and innovation. FORE takes pride in its professional and high-quality faculty, modern infrastructure, technology and resources- be it in the fields of General Management, Human Resource, Finance, Operations, Marketing, Information Technology, Economics and International Business. FORE School of Management was established in 1991. It provides two-year full time programs in Management (PGDM) and International Business (PGDM-IB), and a three-year part time program in Management (part-time PGDM) having a total planned student strength of about 750. Two-year Full time and Three year part-time PGDM Programmes are AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Government of India approved as is the two year full-time PGDM in International Business Management. AICTE has also accredited two year full time PGDM Programme and AICTE considers Two year full time PGDM Programmes at par with MBA degree.There are centres of excellence to inculcate within and to enhance domain specific Research and Training among members of faculty and Entrepreneurship among students. Much of FORE's strength is rooted in its state-of-the-art infrastructure - be it faculty, supportive staff or facilities. The faculty are from leading national and international institutions and industries who have extensive research, consultancy and myriad management skills. Eminent personalities and senior corporate professionals are invited to share real world managerial practices and market opportunities/challenges with students. The programmes at FORE therefore have a blend of academic excellence and business acumen.

Facilities

Library - The library is fully air-conditioned and has a provision of 100 seats for readers. Photocopy services, interlibrary loan and Institutional Membership facilities are provided to the users of the Library. Multiples copies of text books are provided in the text book section for consultation and overnight borrowing facility. The library is fully computerized with LIBSYS , (the library Automation Software, with the result that library catalogue is available online. New Additions list are prepared for users. Specialized information services on demand are also provided. The library services are manned and maintained by a team of qualified and experienced professionals, who give full assistance to all library users. Library operation is computerized under LINUX environment of 5 terminals and a LINUX server. On-line information about books and journals is available through these terminals. Issue and receipt of books and journals are made using LIBSYS software on Windows, so as to make the operation more easy and user friendly. The entire Library System is a subnet of the existing LAN and accessible from any of the nodes distributed over the campus. The library also has Internet access facility through wi-fi.

IT Infrastructure - It includes computer centre with branded servers & 220 plus desktops and laptops, scanners, 70 printers, CD writers. The entire campus is connected to the internet through cabled & Wireless LAN (Heterogeneous OS).

MDPs - A major activity at FORE School of Management (FSM) has been designing, developing and conducting innovative Management Development Programmes (MDPs) for professionalising management in India. Realizing that globalization will result in greater competitive pressures as well as growth opportunities, the FSM has developed many MDPs to equip managers with knowledge, skills and attitudes required for effectively responding to these pressures and opportunities. These MDPs have been designed with a proper blend of conceptual and experiential learning.

Research & Consultancy Services
-  The institute has formed a “Centre of Research” under which research associates and assistants have been employed to assist and work along with the faculty in the varied functional areas of management with particular emphasis on organizational research. “Abhigyan” a refereed research journal is being published for more than last twenty-seven years. A Foreign Travel Committee has also been constituted to encourage the faculty for quality research work as well as to participate and share their research output in various national and international academic institutions and forums. FORE also promotes  the collaborative research jointly with all the leading academic institutions across the countries. Company/industries problems on various researchable issues are always welcome through its rich intellectual capital.

Placement - FORE provides a platform for placement where companies are invited to recruit students of various specializations and work experience. Potential employers are able to undertake on-campus recruitment through a stream-lined process of registrations, PPTs and selection. Understanding the significance of using the right aptitude and knowledge skill-sets for the right task, the Placement Team at FORE seeks to provide corporate and students the best opportunities for mutually beneficial selection. FORE Career Division(FCD) is an integral part of the institute, seeks to identify the best student for the opportunity provided by a prospective employer.

Corporate Interaction Division - The Corporate Interaction Division, or the CID as it is fondly called, is an initiative by the students of FORE School of Management to strengthen and manage an interface between the students and the corporate world. It encourages learning through corporate interaction. The committee is responsible for arranging ANUBHUTI Sessions, which are highly educative and interactive guest lectures by eminent personalities from the corporate world.

FCD - FORE Career Division’ or FCD as it’s popularly known is the placement cell of FORE. Every year over a hundred students gruel it out for the 8 pristine positions of FCD members. The selection process for the committee is elaborate, consisting of 6 rounds at least. They range from group discussions to personal interviews.

Think Tank - Think Tank is the committee that is known for its grey matter, and rightly so the committee organizes an entourage of events that have the students racking their brains to solve puzzles. Through its various activities, Think Tank looks to diversify the students’ openness to experience, their confidence and public speaking skills. Treasure Hunt, Adjustment, Manthan, etc. are some of the many events that the team organizes frequenty.

Abhigyan - ‘Abhigyan’ in Sanskrit means direct perception aided by prior knowledge. A quarterly , refereed journal is devoted to disseminating findings from research work and exploration of original ideas concerning organizations and management. It seeks to address issues of interest to managers and academicians equally.

Nexus - The students of FORE show stupendous innovativeness in activities outside the academic murals as well. Nexus provides a platform to unleash one’s potential in the area of art, culture, music, dramatics, quizzing, business simulation and other fun games. Team Nexus annually organizes Genesis, the Annual Management Festival of FORE, a Fresher’s Welcome Party and a Thanks Giving Nite. ‘Genesis’ is organized and managed by students of FORE. It provides a platform for the students of FORE to interact with other B Schools students across the country. The event comprises strategic simulation and the cultural activities.

International Tie-ups - These include:

  • Member of INTERMAN, an ILO/UN sponsored international network management institution.
  • FORE, through INTERMAN, has links with leading management development centres, management institutions and enterprises in 72 countries.
  • FSM Features in the Asian Directory produced by the EMD, Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

  • Member of Life Office Management Association (LOMA), an international association of Insurance and Financial Services Company (founded in 1924).

Achievement

  • The American Psychological Association has included our journal in their information system. The journal has also been registered and assigned ISSN by the Indian National Scientific Documentation centre which would be monitoring and supplying up-to-date data to international centre of ISDS, Paris.
