About Guru Nanak Institute of Management - GNIM

Guru Nanak Institute of Management - GNIM, Mullana, Established in 2008, is creating new dimensions in academic excellence, executive development and industry interface. The institute conducts two year, full time M.B.A. programme affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and equips the students with managerial and entrepreneurial skills along with the knowledge of business operations.

Keeping in view, the need for economic independence and the crucial role man plays in raising the standard of living of vast strata of society,

Guru Nanak Institute of Management aims at growth of urban and rural youth. GNIM is providing career-oriented education to the students to furnish them with requisite qualification and training. The institute is fully conscious of the needs and aspirations of the student-community and keeps itself abreast of the changes taking place on the industrial front of the country.

GNIM has excellent infrastructure and facilities like a Centralized Air-Conditioned Library with latest books, journals, magazines and e-books, membership of On-line Libraries; state-of-the-art Computing facilities; smart Air-Conditioned Lecture Halls with audio-visual teaching aids such as data projector, E-pen etc.; Air-conditioned Conference Halls; Air-cooled Hostels with all the modern amenities; cultural, recreational and sports facilities. Above all students are motivated by academic environment which combines scholastic rigor with a high level of industry interaction.

The courses offered are geared towards preparing the students to meet the challenges in the highly competitive and technologically advanced business environment of today. MBA programme has an intake of 120 students pursuing one of the following combinations viz. Marketing & Finance; Marketing & Human Resource; Marketing & Information Technology; Finance and Information Technology; Human Recourse & Information Technology plus Human Resource and Finance.

Highly qualified and motivated faculty focus on providing the corporate sector with professionally competent, sophisticated and dynamic managers who have vision and capability to meet the challenges of the new millennium. Theoretical as well as practical training is facilitated at GNIM with the help of extensive industry projects, role-plays, management games, and case study to combine knowledge with the requirements of the current scenario. To provide the learners with a wide exposure, guest lectures by the eminent and renowned personalities and industry visits are made an integral part of the curriculum. In a nutshell, emphasis is laid on the development of analytical ability and creative thinking employing discussion, presentation, seminars, quizzes and case study methods to nurture ‘seek, search and apply’ attitude.

Learning Resources

Smart Lecture Halls

Spacious, well furnished and air-conditioned lecture halls provide the most conducive atmosphere for dynamic and focused discussions as well as create the right atmosphere for long hours of learning. They have been designed to bring together analysis with action and are augmented by audio-visual teaching aids for lectures, presentations, seminars etc.

 Hi-Tech Computing Facilities

GNI offers state-of-the-art computing facilities in terms of Internet and Campus Wide Networking to create and maintain a healthy environment for the pursuit of academic excellence and quality management. The entire campus is WI-FI and all the GNIians have free unlimited access to computers and internet.

Computer Centre of GNI caters to the needs of academic departments and various sections of the institute. The Computer Centre, housed in a spacious building is well equipped with the latest machines viz. HP and DELL machines, etc. A heterogeneous Intranet Network of around 150 nodes under different OS like Linux, Windows is setup and maintained regularly. The Centre has dedicated 2 Mbps leased line. It provides Internet facilities to the users in all the departments, Central Library, faculty rooms and offices. The same facility has also been extended to student hostels etc.

Modern Science and Tech. Labs

GNI provides the learners with the facility of modern science and technical labs. All the science and technical labs are well furnished and are equipped with modern gadgets and latest equipments. To ensure safety of the students, all these labs are under the charge of expert and experienced technicians.

Conference and Seminar Halls

Fully equipped, state-of-the-art air-conditioned conference halls with a seating capacity of 300-400 people is a part and parcel of the ultra-modern infrastructure at GNI. The Halls are well furnished with the latest audio-visual aids and presentation tools to facilitate smooth presentations, demonstrations, seminars, discussions, meetings, etc.

Central Library

Guru Nanak Institutions boast of a well-stocked air-conditioned digital Centralized Library with latest books, journals, magazines, e-books etc. in addition to membership of On-line Libraries. GNI Library has a unique collection of books and periodicals and the dedicated staff is always available to provide information and details to young learners. Computerized cataloging facilitates students with quick and thorough access to various books and latest journals. A wide range of subjects is covered under the audiovisual facilities available with the library. The Institute’s computer network offers an access to the Internet, networked CD-ROMs and other electronic databases. In addition, there are multimedia workstations and a vast collection of interactive CD-ROMs.

Book Bank Scheme

Each student needs at least one textbook for each subject in all the eight semesters. This is an expensive proposition; moreover, students face a lot of problems in collecting these books. To reduce the burden, GNI has the scheme of Book-Bank for the students. Under this scheme, students are issued one set of books for a period of one year/semester.

E-Classrooms

Pearson, the world's largest education company, has tied-up with GNI to bring to the aspiring engineers, Digital class - an ICT-based solution that combines state-of-the-art hardware with syllabus-compliant, multimedia-based interactive content. This solution draws upon Pearson's global expertise in digital content and its vast experience in educating over 100 million people worldwide. Digital class solution empowers teachers to transform traditional blackboard-and-chalk classrooms into interactive sessions. The multimedia content enables teachers to better explain complex concepts, due to which students can retain information for a longer period of time.

Student Services

Hostel

Guru Nanak Institutions provide comfortable, air-cooled hostel accommodation separately for boys and girls in the campus. The hostels are well equipped with all the modern amenities and are under the charge of caring and experienced Wardens. Special features like ultramodern gymnasium and sports facilities, internet center, 24 hrs internet connectivity in the rooms through ‘WI-FI', solar water heating system, recreation room, drinking water treatment plant, generators for power backup and tight security arrangements ensure a pleasant stay allowing students to focus on academics. Special efforts are made to provide homely, hygienic and nourishing food to the students and a separate library is attached to the hostel.

Cafeteria

‘A healthy mind resides in a healthy body’ - Guru Nanak Institutions have a spacious and well maintained canteen that caters to the taste buds of the students as well as the staff. The Cafeteria is well maintained with efficient service and hygienic atmosphere. Whole some nutritious fare comprising of Indian, Chinese and Italian food plus fresh fruit juices, milkshakes, ice creams, sundaes and even midnight snacks is made available here at nominal rates.

Medical Assistance

Guru Nanak Institutions own dispensary where the medical facilities are provided to the students and staff members. A duly-qualified staff and proper stock of medicines have been ensured by the college authorities. In addition to the day-to-day attendance to ailments, special attention is paid to the health of the students. The institutions provide group insurance worth Rs 1,00,000 to each staff member and student.

Sports Facilities

The industry today seeks not just knowledge workers but action oriented leaders who adapt to changing situations with ease. At GNI, the infrastructure has been designed with exceptional facilities for sports as well as recreational activities to ensure all round development of the learners.
