About Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology

Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology, a Government of Kerala undertaking, was originally incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 by name Kerala Flying Club, which was formally inaugurated on 16 Sep 1959. The name was later changed to Kerala Aviation Training Centre in 1980. In 1981, the Government of Kerala took over the institution under its control. Subsequently, a Memorandum of Association was approved by the Annual General Meeting of Kerala Aviation Training Centre which brought all the assets and liabilities including employees under the Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology, a Society registered under the Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955 with effect from 1 Jun 2006. This Academy is now functioning as a Government undertaking with grant-in-aid from the Govt.

Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology has been setup by the Government of Kerala to provide quality training to young aspirant pilots who wish to become future professionals in the booming aviation sector. It is mainly intended to create dynamic young talents in aviation field, to build our national strength by enhancing their skills and attitudes, and equipping them to serve the competitive aviation industry worldwide.
