Rajiv Gandhi Institute of IT & BT (RGITBT) is affiliated to Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University (BVDU). The institute has been accreditated and re-arreditated ‘A’ grade by NAAC, MHRD and UGC in 2011 in recognition of the excellence in teaching, learning, infrastructure and governance. RGITBT also has the 12B status by UGC.

The institute has an impressive infrastructure with state of art laboratories, class rooms with LCD facility and highly qualified permanent faculty with specialization in various subjects related to biotechnology.

Understanding the demand for skilled manpower and potential scope in biotech industry/ pharmaceutical and drug research/ agriculture/ academics, we at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of IT & Biotechnology are committed to provide excellent education and training in developing the required skills in the different subjects of biotechnology.

The institute focuses on research areas with direct impact on human health & upliftment of farmers. Students are also encouraged to undertake socially relevant research projects under the guidance of faculty. The institute boasts of running 10 research projects that have received funds from various external funding agencies like DBT, New Delhi, DST, New Delhi, MoEF, ICMR and DSSRI.

The institute also has collaborations with different institute of national repute like National Chemical Laboratory, Agharkar Research Institute, National Institute of Virology etc and biotech industries like Jay Biotech etc.

The track record of our alumni is indeed commendable, with many of them having proved their mettle in different spheres of life. Our students have found placement in reputed pharma/ agriculture/ research organizations etc.
