Architecture

Architecture

The sprawling VKP campus caters for any futuristic extension. The buildings are reminiscent of old Havelis having rooms in quadrangle and open space in the center as per the guidelines of Vastu Shastra, to ensure proper lighting and air ventilation with effective energy conservation. These are open on all sides to facilitate entrance from all directions depicting that theses temples of knowledge are open to all irrespective of any caste, creed or color.

The buildings have wide corridors and courtyards providing excellent space for activities and movement. The open quadrangle surrounded by classrooms can act as a large open air stage acting as three story balconies for spectators.

Seminar Halls

All the seminar halls are air conditioned and are equipped with Audio Video systems. The seminar halls are regularly used for class interaction meetings, national and international conferences, teacher and student training programmes.

Banks & ATM

Vidya Knowledge Park has been facilitated with two nationalized banks Punjab National Bank, Allahabad Bank and PNB’s ATM at the very entrance of the institution, which gives all the convenience of banking to students.

Amphitheater

Based on the Greek architectural Concept Island is built to a semi curricular plan to enhance vibrant acoustic performance with tiered seating, tiers that surrounds that central performance.  It has curved shape standing structure behind the stage creating an area which echoes amplifies sound making it ideal for musical or theatrical performances. The facility is an open air venue used for entertainment and performances. The performance area has been the venue for many cultural events and competitions organized at VKP.

International Sports Academy

Vidya International Sports Academy, VISA is a fully equipped state-of-the-art games training facility for the students.

Eco Friendly Campus

In keeping with its basics colors and logo VKP ha serious concern for the preservation, restoration, conservation of natural resources, prevention of pollution and land use.  Some of the actions that have been taken by VKP towards achievement of this mission are:-

Afforestation

We are committed to preserve the local flora and fauna by planting over 35,000 fruit bearing, medicinal, ornamental, gymnospermic, mosses, pteridophytes, lichens, cottons etc. plants. They not only add beauty to the campus but help in soil conservation and pollution control.

No Smoke Generators

VKP has installed smokeless and noiseless generators to provide 24 hours electricity backup to run essential services without any interruptions.

Sewage Treatment Plant

VKP has STP water treatment plant for treatment of water from residential areas and messes. The water is used for gardening and the solid slug residue is utilized as manure to maintain grass and trees.

Rain Water Harvesting

The buildings are constructed so as to control the flow of rain water. Rain water harvesting plants help in conserving natural resources and help in maintaining the water table.

Solar Heaters

To make use of non conventional source of energy Solar Water Heaters have been installed in residential areas and messes to provide hot water for bathing, washing and cleaning purposes and help in conserving electricity.

Disposal of Waste

In VKP campus we follow dustbin culture. The waste is segregated into biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste and disposed off in appropriate manners.

Green Force Club

VKP has a club to spread awareness towards preservation of ecosystem. It organizes seminars , meetings and rallies to spread the message of “Green Earth” and “Green Environment”

Methodology

 Lecture-cum-discussion: - VSB provides a dynamic environment of interactive and participative learning in the class rooms. Students are encouraged to participate in class room discussions not only with faculty but amongst themselves also. Students are enriched with knowledge through lectures, assignments, live projects and individual researches done in various spheres of business world.

Group Discussion: - At VSB, Group Discussion is being extensively used as one of the best tools to study the behavioral and attitudinal responses of the participants. At VSB, we focus at enhancing GD skills by including it as an academic activity for assessment. This helps students to perform well in business meetings and emerge as leaders. Corporate experts help students to brush up their GD skills to a level suitable for corporate discussions and business meets.

Role Plays & Management Games: - One of the most effective training methods practiced at VSB is role play. Role playing allows a group of students to act out work scenarios. It opens communications, puts a student ‘ON-THE-SPOT and develops companionship among those participating in the role play situations.

Case Studies: - The case study method serves a multiple purpose of learning i.e. - understanding a situation, developing analytical skills and finally decision making and resultant ability to work in a complex business environment. At VSB, the facilitators believe in carefully planned and crafted studies of real-life business cases. This part of pedagogy helps to build a multi-dimensional approach by having an exposure of managerial decision making and dealing with industrial nitty-gritty. Students are expected to interpret complex data and determine the best course of action to overcome on organizational issue.

Live Projects: - At VSB students are exposed to various situational and functional live projects form the corporate world. These projects provide an invaluable opportunity for the students to be exposed to organizations with complex management issues. These projects are supervised and students are given sufficient support by faculty to apply their learning and learn from real life situations.

Summer Internships with the Institutes Corporate Partners: - Six to eight weeks of summer training with reputed companies help students understand theoretical concepts learnt at the institute in a real life corporate context. Students work on live, time-bound projects and gain firsthand experience of the corporate culture and its requirements. Summer Internships stimulates   professional action skills learning through the implementation of “real-world” tasks and exercises under guidance of corporate mentors and institute faculty.

Campus Facilities

Dining Halls

We at Vidya Knowledge Park keep a close tab on the health of our talented students. Therefore, we have set up a total hygiene and healthy food provider mess where students and their faculty can get quality food at subsidized charges. The mess can offer service up to 250 boys at a time in the Amaltas Mess and up to 150 girls in the Eucalyptus Mess. Both are equipped in terms of quality manpower and resources to provide variety of vegetarian meals and snacks and are under the direct supervision of the Mess Committee comprising of faculty and student representatives. Besides, proper meals arrangements, students can watch television to catch the day’s happening on news channels or watch some informative programs for updating their general knowledge and understanding of this world.

Cafeteria

Healthy food leads to healthy mind. VKP is committed to ensure that the students are provided with healthy and hygienic food. There are 3 cafeterias in different blocks of the campus. The cafeterias and other eateries are functioning based on the cash payment basis. The cafeterias are aptly named after local trees and shrubs in consonance to our commitment towards green environment.

Café de Palm, Gulmohar and Redchilies have a constant check for food safety to ensure safe and quality food at affordable prices.

Healthcare

VKP has a qualified, skillful and experienced Resident Doctor in the campus to look after the health of students, faculty and staff living inside campus. The Doctor also advises the management on health matters.

We have ambulances to convey patients to hospital 24×7. We have also tied up with leading hospitals to accept our patients.

Gymnasium

A healthy mind resides in a healthy body

A well equipped gym in the Vidya International Sports Academy having latest equipments and machines has ensured better fitness and health facilities for the students, faculty and staff members of VKP. Instructors and trainers are available throughout the day to train the gym enthusiasts. The membership to the gymnasium can be availed by all members of VKP by payment of a very nominal fee.
