Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology (AVIT) was established in 1998 in Paiyanoor, Tamil Nadu. The serene Campus situated in an area of 60 acres of land set against the backdrop of Bay of Bengal forms an ideal setting for an educational institution with excellent infrastructure. AVIT offers various under-graduate and post-graduate programs, approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The sprawling Campus consists of well-designed multi-storied buildings providing ample space for class rooms, well-equipped laboratories, excellent library, auditorium, hostel, and student amenities centre. All the departments are well equipped with modern machines, computers and instruments. Facilities

Hostels - The College has well furnished separate Hostels for boys and girls.

Class Room - AVIT has spacious air-conditioned class rooms which includes facilities like - Internet connectivity, Audio visual aids and Public address systems.

Library - The VMU has its own Library linked to Central Online Catalogue. On the whole VMU has over 1,00,000 books, 1000 periodicals and 5000 audiovisuals, together with a large electronic information resource which supports educational and research programs of both students and faculty. The Library is air -conditioned with separate rooms for reading and reference section with a good seating accommodation. It houses best collection of journals, reference books and CD ROMs to support education and research of both faculty and students.

Computer and Internet Facility - The College provides 8mbps premium internet bandwidth with 1:1 connectivity to it's students. The College has a Wi - Fi enabled Campus.

Transport - AVIT is well connected by public transport system.. The College can be reached in an hour’s drive from Adyar, Chennai city. The College also operates fleet of Buses covering key locations in and around Chennai, to facilitate the students and staff community.

Gymnasia - Gymnasia has 12-station multi-gym facility. The Gym is spacious and well equipped with modern imported equipments. It has centralised air-conditioning and audio and video facilities. Qualified gym instructors are available round-the-clock to train students specifically for their respective sports. The Gym has separate timings for men and women.

Career Development & Placement Cell - The CDC organizes various Workshops, Seminars and Training Programs to motivate the students and improve their soft-skills as well as technical abilities to make them job-ready. The CDC prepares the students for interviews by organising mock interviews, group discussions and in counselling and guiding the students for their successful placement, thereby providing a smooth transition between academic program and entry-level employment. The Dean - CDC and the HEAD - Placements take care of Placement needs of the students and the prospective employers and organize interviews On and Off-Campus. The CDC also liaises with industries to build up industry-institute interaction.
