About Indian Institute of Mass Communication - IIMC Dhenkanal

Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Dhenkanal is the Second Campus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. IIMC, Dhenkanal is managed by the IIMC Society which is an autonomous body registered under the Societies Registration Act 1867. It is funded by the Government of India through the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India. IIMC, Delhi is the headquarter of the Institute and there are other four Regional Centres in Aizawl (Mizoram), Amravati (Maharashtra), Jammu (J&K) and Kottyam (Kerala). Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Dhenkanal was established by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in 1993 at Dhenkanal, Odisha for meeting the requirements of teaching, training and research in journalism and mass communication of the eastern region of the country. The institute campus is spread over 7.5 acres and situated in the valley of Panionhala (meaning Hanging Water in Odia) Hill which commands a majestic view. It is located at a distance of about 80 kms. from Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, Dhenkanal nestles in the rural and tribal hinterland of Central Odisha. It is connected by both rail and road (NH 42).
