Babu Jai Shankar Gaya Prasad Mahavidyalaya also known as Babu Jai Shankar Gaya Prasad P.G. College is a B.Ed. college established in 2004. It is a self financed college managed by Raja Rao Ram Baksh Singh Shiksha Prasar Samiti Rai, Bareli. Raja Rao Ram Baksh Singh was brave king who fought with the English Army. His tales are legendary in the region, to add to the glory of the region and also to fulfil a long pending demand of a higher educational institute, the Samiti decided to start a 'Shiksha-yagya' named as Babu Jai Shankar Gaya Prasad Mahavidyalya  Sumer Pur Unnao. The foundation stone of the institution was laid by a renowned youth educationist Shree Dal Bahadur Singh who was inspired by his nearest, hard working friend Shree Dinesh Singh “BABA”. Dal Bahadur Singh is the Director of the institute as of 2013. Smt. Sheel Bajpai donated Dharmshala & nearby local land in its support. As of 2012 Babu Jai Shankar Gaya Prasad Post Graduate College has applied for B.Ed., B.P.Ed. and 6 additional subjects for B.A. The motto of the Babu Jai Shankar Gaya Prasad Mahavidyalaya, Sumerpur, Unnao is ‘Prem, Sanyam & Mitwyayita’. The aim of the mahavidylaya is to prepare & present the students for the welfare of humanity by inspiring them physically, mentally & spiritually. The college provides students with facilities of hostels, laboratories, library, scholarships and all the required ones as well.
