About Acharya and BM Reddy College of Pharmacy
Founded in the year 1992, Acharya & BM Reddy College of Pharmacy is today one of the forefront Pharmacy education institutions in the State. The College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of health Sciences (RGUHS) and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Its Diploma in Pharmacy programme is approved by the Government of Karnataka, Board of Examinations, Dept. of Drug Control.
Acharya is a campus that is a mini township by itself, spread across 120 acres of land in the outskirts of Bangalore. Located just a few minutes drive away from top-notch corporates, it rests atop a raised scenic spot, surrounded by gentle and gradient landforms. The design of the campus is very student centric, predominantly pedestrian with vehicular traffic secluded from the learning zones. The Academic, Residential, Student Activity and Landscaped Zones of the campus are interestingly isolated and integrated with one another.
Acharya & BM Reddy College of Pharmacy lays strong emphasis on getting its students rewardingly placed in challenging national and international careers. Its initiatives in interfacing with leading pharma industries have seen the students visiting them and undertaking projects. ‘Data Curation of Matrix Metalloprotease’ a project for Siri Technologies, Bangalore is an example. Also students have been enabled to fruitfully interact with professionals at Eli-Lily India and Cadila Zydus, Dr. Reddy’s Labs, Sarabhai Chemicals, Alchem Labs, Cipla Ltd., Sun Pharma etc. during their visits to college

Facilities
Hostel Accommodation - Nearly 60% of the students at Acharya campus come from outside Bangalore. Their living comforts are taken care by a number of in-campus and other hostels that cater exclusively for boys’ and girls’ needs. They also provide a choice of regional cuisine, apart from medical care in case of emergencies, transportation, communication, etc.
Special Coaching & Mentoring - The teachers at Acharya act a true guides for the students in respect for their academics, projects and even career decisions / placements.
- English Language Programmes - A special certificate course for English language development of the students is available for non-English speaking students at various levels. These help students learn the English language quickly and also enable their smooth transition to higher level professional programmes offered at Acharya Institutes. These are professionally conducted programmes in a state of the art language lab that uses extensive audio-video personalised equipment.
- Bridge Programmes / personality development programmes - These are regularly conducted for preparing the students for the realities of life and also to train them to face interviews for jobs.

Academic Partnership - ABMRCP’s initiatives towards collaborating with industry for academic objectives is seeing it approach leading pharmaceutical corporations such as Biocon, Dr. Reddy’s Lab, Astra Zeneca, Himalaya Drugs, Cipla, Sun Pharma, Pharmasia, Novozymes, Glaxo Smithkline, Cadila, Lupin, Wockhardt, Aventis, Nicholas Piramal, etc.
Collaborations - Interaction with other academic and industry organizations for joint-programmes such as research, project, etc.
Research Projects - Some of the ongoing and completed research projects by the faculty and students are Anti stress effect of homeopathic drugs - Tuberculinum, Cal-carb and Belladonna, Effluent contamination of the Godavari River water at Rajahmundri bank etc.
Project Association - ABMRCP’s initiatives into establishing a full-fledged Research Centre is in the process of setting about with institutions such as NIH, DBT, DST, AICTE, UGC, ICMR, PCI, RGUHS and leading Pharmaceutical and Biotech corporations
Placements - Unlike other nucleous academic institutions, Acharya is a conglomerate. Nearly half of its academic programmes prepare youth for career. Over 40 percent of its students hail from places outside Bangalore and their preferred career destinations are spread far and wide. The placement department of Acharya Institutes has been interacting with industry at many perspectives. Some of the companies that have placed institutes students are Pfizer, Cipla, Dr Reddy's etc.
Sports - Acharya Institutes campus has a stadium that can seat 10,000 at a time. This multi-function stadium is the venue for all the sports and athletics events of the institutions and also for mega-cultural programmes. Students are trained and encouraged to participate in a number of inter-collegiate, inter-university sports competitions. Acharyans are proud winners of a number of individual and team competitions such as Cricket, Football, Volley Ball, Chess, etc.
Cultural Activities - Acharya Institutes is a home of cultural and ethnic diversity. It encourages cultural activities through a series of events, culminating in Acharya Habba - an annual cultural festival.

Achievements
NBA Accreditation - ABMRCP’s penchant for quality in all its endeavors has seen it accredited by National Board of Accreditation in the year 2006 and it is in the process of getting ISO 9001:2000 certification, forge academic collaborations with leading Industry funded research projects. Its forays are to expand its academics through short term training programmes in such fields as Colloquium in Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Pharmaceutical Technology and bring in TQM in all its technical and pharmaceutical activities
