IIFT has now emerged as a premier human resources development institute in India engaged in training professional to meet the varied man power requirements of the apparel industry. It is an integrated institute of designing management and technology. It offers several full time diploma/ degree programs and several continuing education courses through it various centers. Fashion trade is mercurial in nature and requires creativity and flare for art, together with sound technology so vital to mass manufacturing of apparel. The role of IIFT is to provide leadership in professionalizing the industry. It also renders assistance to the apparel industry as well as several educational institutes offering courses in fashion designing, garments technology and marketing and merchandising.

Today India is playing very important role in export of garments. This has given boost to our traditional handloom textiles which have found a place in the most fashionable stores of the international fashion market. It has created a great demand for young fashion designers in the trade. IIMT the prime institute of design prepares its students according to the demand and the latest trend and technology .the practical training is so well important to the students that they can stand on their own feet and become productive and earning members of the society.

Since the fashion world tends to move fast, we at IIFT Keep pace with the technological advancement and changes in this great industry and prepare our country to face the global challenges by providing professionally trained individuals equipped with technical skills. It draws its strength from its faculty which has a strong academic base. 

We hold a glorious record in organising various fashion shows. To Name Some:-

• Falislation of Miss World Priyanka Chopra at IIFT Rampur garden Bareilly.
• Organised grand fashion show in “Craft Bazar” Held in march 2004 at Swarn Club Cantt.
• Organization fashion show in ‘’saras mela’’ in april at vikas bhavan.
• Coundcted a fashion show on 3rd july 2004 at sanjay Comunity Hall.
• Organised ‘‘Mrs Bareilly 2004’’ on 10th of july at Swarn Club cantt.
• Displayed Bridal Collection in November 2011 at IIFT Bareilly.
• Conducted ‘Vote for leaders’ encouraging people to vote in 2011 at IIFT.
• For the first time in Bareilly ‘Haunted mistery’ in 2010 by IIFT organised at Bareilly Club.
• A show on ‘Terrorism’ at organised at IIFT in 2009.
• A ramp show on Politician was organized at iift in 2009, was grant success and was displayed on all National Television, including sahara TV ,Aajtak, and many more .
• IIFT has not leave the kids behind and conducted a ‘Bridal collection show’ on kids organised in 2009 at IIFT.
• Displayed ‘summer collection’ in 2008 at bareilly.
• Conducted ‘vote for politicians’ on 2008 at IIFT which was displayed on all National Television.
• Leaving not the nature behind IIFT has also counducted on ‘Global warming’ in 2008 at IIFT. 
• IIFT has also displayed a summer collection for youth at Bareilly Club in 2008.
• IIFT has given a sense of coolness in hot summer in 2007 by conducting a show ‘rain on ramp’ at Bareilly Club. 
• IIFT has also organized ‘‘Leo’s Fashion Week’’ and Festival Week in the year 2006 and 2007 respectively.
