About Guwahati Institute of Fashion Technology - GIFT

GIFT (Guwahati Institute of Fashion Technology) was setup in the year 2009. GIFT has been playing a crucial role bench marking performance and process in the areas of design, research and development.

Our courses are designed to train students with the advanced skills, experiment, discover and innovate in the exciting field of fashion and interior. They also learn the language and process of designing under the guidance of skilled and experienced trainers which includes industry specialists having wide range of experience in the domestic and global areas.

Academic

The curriculum at GIFT allows students to easily blend into a global network, as well as acquire a greater appreciation of local industry trends. The multidisciplinary and broad-based structure is at an all round development of students. GIFT offers 1year diploma programmes and 3years bachelor in the areas of Fashion and Interior Designing.

Activity

Educational visits- Students visit small industrial units to integrate theory with practice. They also visit exhibitions, trade fairs to keep abreast with the latest fashion trends.

Internship

Students get an internship period to understand the structural and functional constituents of the industry/ brands/ designers/ company etc. This internship also helps strengthen the relationship between industry and students.

Design Collection

The design collection made by the students in the final semester is a part of course curriculum. Here students with their own innovation will create a line of garments and present than in the annual GIFT show “RUNWAY”.
