Godiva Procession or Godiva Carnival Procession is an annual procession which re-enacts the story of Lady Godiva. Godiva was a legendary figure who rode naked through Coventry (England) in order to persuade her husband not to levy excessive heavy taxes on the townspeople. The Procession is held in the city of Coventry, England and has been held here since the 17th century. The procession involves performances by dancers, actors, aerialists, musicians and pyrotechnicians.
