Even after the announcement of final syllabus for the first ever NEET UG by Medical Council of India it is unclear as how many states are ready to accept NEET-UG as Gujarat has already confirmed to MCI in writing of its inability to accept NEET UG citing some reasons as Gujarat wants the question paper in Gujarati apart from Hindi & English, It is not keen to part with 85 per cent seats reserved for local students and the third one is that the syllabus should be normalized to avoid trouble for it’s state board students.
Gujarat government is standing up to protect interest of it’s students! So it is likely that Gujarat will not open up it’s seats for common medical entrance test counseling as the state is not joining NEET-UG this year.
MCI made it clear that NEET will be held only in English and Hindi.
