New Delhi: The Central Placement cell of Delhi University (DU) began its first round of placement with four companies visiting the campus on Tuesday. The companies visited the campus to hire final-year students as well as those pursuing post-graduation.

A job portal visiting the campus hired 22 students, mainly for sales and marketing on the first day itself. A total of more than 800 students had turned up for the recruitment process.

The next placement session will be held on January 29, when a Japanese company will also visit the campus with the highest placement offer of Rs. 1.25 lakh per month. It is likely to offer jobs in sales with posting in Tokyo for the first three years. The registration process for the central placements, however, ended on October 31.
