As AICTE has adopted CMAT from this academic year, The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra has decided to abolish Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to the two-year MBA or MMS programmes in the State with effect from 2013.
Colleges, such as Sydenham Institute of Management Studies and Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) will consider the scores of centrally conducted Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) as admission criteria.
A notification in this regard has been issued by the DTE in Maharashtra on December 28, 2011. The notification depicts that the admission to first year of two-year full time AICTE-approved MBA, MMS and PGDM courses from the academic year 2013-14 will be done through CMAT merit list only conducted by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
