The Delhi University’s Academic Council gave its confirmatory nod to convert the three year undergraduate programme into a tenure of four years now.

This new course will give the students an option to quit post two years with an associate degree, and an option of a bachelors degree, if the student leaves post three years and in case the student finishes all the four years then the student gets the honors degree.

Apart from this, a few foundation subjects would be compulsory. The Sports and cultural activities will form a part of the curriculum and the course would be a multi disciplinary which would allow the students to choose their subjects across the steams.

This meeting was held on 24 December 2012 and apparently some teachers cried foul stating that the proposal was pushed without consulting a major portion of the teaching community.
