Delhi University is all set to merge the three popular non technical undergraduate professional courses without reducing the overall intake, as part of its four year undergraduate degree plan.
Starting 2013-14 it is not only the bachelors of arts , Science and Commerce that will merge, but also courses such as Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS), Bachelor of Financial Investment and Analysis (BFIA) and BA (Hons) Business Economics (BBE) will be merged into one course.
However, the final decision on the merger plan is yet to be taken by the end of March 2013 .The admission process for these courses are scheduled to start earlier than the other undergraduate courses, which should start anywhere from April first week 2013.
There are around eight hundred and ninety one seats in all in the three courses, with BBE having five hundred and fifty four, BBS two hundred and seventy five and BFIA sixty two. It is learnt that Delhi University will continue with the entrance exam for admissions. DU officials say the overall intake is not going to be affected by the merger.
