External Exam find favor among Class X CBSE students

There has been a sharp increase in the number of CBSE Class X students who have opted for the external exam in 2014 board’s exams as compared to the year 2013.

CBSE declared the Class X board exam as optional in 2009, the decision was implemented from 2010 session.   Later in 2012, CBSE made the external board examination compulsory only for those students who wish to switch their board to some other, after Class 10. However, for those who want to change only school does not have compulsion to appear for external boards and this 2012 decision came into effect from 2013.
