Delhi government has taken a novel step of setting up “Book Banks” to benefit its school students. Schools will now be collecting old useable textbooks from students of all classes which will be used for underprivileged children.

The move comes after National Green Tribunal's recommendation of better utilization of used books. Books will be provided to the less privileged children through School Management Committees (SMCs).

The used books will be stored and the children who are not able to purchase such books to study can use these books.
