Super 30 founder Anand Kumar selected role model for the Tata Jagriti Yatra-2010

Patna: Anand Kumar, who founded Super 30, Bihar's free coaching centre, has been selected as one of the role models for the Tata Jagriti Yatra 2010, organized by the Tata Group.

The Super 30 centres have been a big help to students in the state and many succeeded in getting admission to the prestigious IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology).

"I will use the platform to interact with youths, particularly from marginalized section of society, to create awareness and help them develop their vision for a developed India," Anand Kumar told the sources on Friday.

Anand will address the youth on January 10 at Mithapur in Gujarat.

"I am really excited to meet youths and share time with them," he said.

Anand explained that the Jagriti Yatra, which began in Mumbai on December 24, is a great social movement to take development to the grassroots level.

The journey will pass through various places. It stops for a day or two at pre-planned places where role models like Anand address them.

Anand's ability to deliver inspiring speeches has seen him address from the platforms of corporate worlds and educational institutions both in India and abroad.

Last year Anand was invited by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to speak at the conference "Making the Difference" held at Coimbatore. In December he was invited to speak about his inspiring journey at the INK Conference for innovation and knowledge organized by the American organization TED.

In the last three years, all 30 students of Super 30 have made it to the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by IITs. Since 2003, 212 students have made it to the IITs.


Anand Kumar, who started the Ramanujam School of Mathematics in 1992, founded the Super 30 in 2002.
