Que. Difference Between a Dietician & a Nutritionist
Dietician and Nutritionist are names that are used interchangeably, however, their educational requirements and work functions differ.
Nutritionists are specialists who advise people on the types and amounts of food they should consume in order to gain or lose weight.
Dietitians, on the other hand, are the professionals who advise medical patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities on the proper nutritional intake; for example, a person recovering from an accident would have different dietary requirements than one suffering from cancer. They have received dietary training for a variety of populations, particularly clinical patients.
Nutritionists can be Dieticians, but Dieticians cannot be Nutritionists.
