Difference between an Ethical Hacker and a Penetration Tester.

Penetration testing is one method for effectively breaching an information system while causing no harm. The goal of ethical hacking is to find holes and repair them before criminals may exploit them. A penetration tester is a security specialist who simulates an attack on a system in order to find weaknesses. Despite the fact that ethical hacking includes penetration testing, ethical hackers have a broader variety of interests.

While penetration testers are particularly interested in network penetration, ethical hackers will go to whatever length to get access to a system. The only access to the systems that will be utilized for pen testing is required for penetration testing. However, access to a wide range of computer systems situated throughout an IT infrastructure is required for ethical hacking.
