Is a Psychiatrist the Same as a Psychologist?

The terms "psychiatry" and "psychology" are frequently used interchangeably, however, they are not interchangeable. A Psychiatrist is a physician with a medical degree, whereas a Psychologist is a non-physician professional with a doctorate rather than a medical degree. Psychiatrists treat patients, whereas Psychologists treat clients. A psychiatrist, on the other hand, may typically prescribe drugs, but psychologists cannot.
