Interior Designer Vs Interior Decorator

Interior Designer: Interior Designers work begins as soon as he is hired or consulted by an architect or developer generally just after the architect has laid out the basic shape of the building i.e at the very beginning of the project

Interior Decorator:
Interior Decorators are generally called onto the projects just after its completion. However they may be consulted while the work on the project is still on.

Interior Designer: Interior Designers work along with architects to design the entire interior of a space provided, from where the walls will go, where the windows will be, to what kind of flooring material will be used. Their work is to make the optimum use of the space available.

Interior Decorator: Interior Decorator will choose the colors, the furniture, layout furnishings, fixtures, lighting, paint and fabric and work for creating a decorating scheme. Their work is to improve the esthetics of the space provided.

Interior Designer: Interior Designer can take on the role of an Interior Decorator and apt on choosing furnishings, paint and other finishes, as well as creating a lighting plan that best serves the building occupants.

Interior Decorator: Interior Decorator cannot step into the field of Interior Designer.

Interior Designer: As a thumb rule Interior Designer are basically hired for Commercial projects

Interior Decorator: Where as residential projects are handled by Interior Decorators but this rule is with unlimited exceptions.

Interior Designer: To become an Interior Designer some kind of formal qualification like Bachelors in Design etc. is a must.

Interior Decorator: Naturally talented people can handle this work without any formal qualification or students with qualification in design   B.Des. Or Fine Arts like BFA can make Decoration as their area or work exclusively.
