Answer: Anther is the terminal part of a stamen in which the pollen grains are produced. It is usually borne on a slender stalk or filament, and has two lobes, each containing two chambers, or pollen sacs, within which the pollen is formed. When pollen matures in the pollen sacs, the lobes of the anthers burst open.
