Answer: A Short Circuit or an Electric Short occurs whenever the resistance of a circuit or the resistance of a part of a circuit drops in value to almost zero ohms. A short often occurs as a result of improper wiring or broken insulation. Simply put - when two wires that are not supposed to merge or fuse at any point and are meant to remain separate, collide into each other accidentally and unexpectedly.
