Ceres – discovered on January 1, 1801 (45 years before Neptune) was considered as a Planet for half a century before it's reclassification as an Asteroid. It was classified as a Dwarf Planet on September 13, 2006. Ceres is the only Dwarf Planet in the asteroid belt. It was discovered on 1 January 1801, by Giuseppe Piazzi and named after 'Ceres - The Roman Goddess of growing Plants, The Harvest, and Motherly Love'.
