Snakes, just like other creatures have self defence instinct and whenever they are cornered, chased, caught, annoyed, they tend to bite whosoever (be it animal or human) is doing so. Snakes do not bite humans because they are vengeful or they hate humans. Snakes are themselves fearful of humans and would rather flee than fight.
