Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School - Sur Singh

Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec. Public School, Sur Singh, Tarn Taran, was established in 1983 under the aegis of Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society. Founded on the name of Sri Guru Harkrishan Ji, 8th Guru of Sikhs, it is one of the premier institutions of the region. Noble efforts of Mata Shamsher Kaur ji and her son S. Karam Singh Dhillon ji (Ex- Chairman of Electricity Board, Punjab) enlightened the thought of opening a school for the students of this remote border area. School has honour to be affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi under the talented and able guidance of the CKDCS Management and the Principal. Despite being located in remote area, this institution has won laurels in many fields.

To see the school at great heights is the dream of many visionaries who are nurturing, moulding, nourishing and directing it with great care and painstaking efforts. With consistent efforts of S Karam Singh Ji, School is now developing into a lush green sprawling campus comprising grounds of Volley Ball, Hand Ball, Basket Ball, Badminton, Kho-kho, and Kabaddi. School has fully furnished, well lighted and ventilated classrooms; three well equipped science laboratories, one High Tech Computer Laboratory. The library is richly stocked that provides excellent reading and reference book consultation facilities to students and staff.

• More than 150 plants are planted and 100 more are to be planted for healthy lush green environment of the school.
