Sri Guru Harkrishan Primary Public School - Kurali

Sri Guru Harkrishan Middle Public School, Kurali, is nestled in the heart of the town, was established in the year 2000 with 7-8 students by Chief Khalsa Diwan Amritsar under the strewardship of Member Incharge S. Dalip Singh Ji Banga & S. Pritam Singh Ji President Local Committee Chandigarh. The school has now reached new heights and has been upgraded from Nursery to class VIII having the total strength of 204 students. The philanthropists, Late Lala Bhagwan Dass and Harnam Dass donated the old Dharmshala on 20.6.93 to Chief Khalsa Diwan Amritsar,constructed during 1913. As the old building was unsafe for any human activity, it was demolished and a new building of five rooms and a toilet block was constructed. To cater the increasing strength of the school, again a new block of five rooms and toilets was constructed. Now the school has spacious airy and well ventilated 10 rooms. The multipurpose hall has been constructed for school activities and functions. The school is a progressive co-educational institution providing global and quality education on public school pattern with English medium of instructions.

Computer Room: - The Computer Room with some computers is infect a Hi-tech Lab to make the students technology wizards. The computer aided instructions are provided to make teaching more interesting & easy.

Library: - The school has a well stocked library to inculcate the habit of reading among the students with latest periodicals, Journals, magazines, newspapers etc.

Music: - The school has appointed the services of an able music teacher to teach the students about the rudiments of ragas, harmonium and tabla. To satisfy the spiritual needs of the students, they learn to recite Shabad Kirtan.

Transport Facility: - The school bus provides the transport facility to the students.

Kindergarten Section: - The pre-primary wing of the school is the liveliest section of the school. A special playground has been constructed for toddlers.

Other Facilities: - There are water coolers with the facility of water purifiers to provide hygienic drinking water to the students. There is provision of inverter as well.

The Faculty: - The school is headed by a well qualified and experienced Teacher In charge with a team of 12 well qualified and experienced teachers who serve the institution with complete dedication and devotion.

Co-Curricular Activities:- For the harmonious development of the students, the various co-curricular activities like music, dance, painting, quiz, shabad-kirtan, cultural activities are regularly organized.

Scholarship: - Sixteen students are awarded merit cum means scholarship of Rs. 50 each per month. The school is under total involvement and guidance of the management of Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. sec Public School, sector 40-C, Chandigarh. A free homeopathic dispensary is being run successfully by Chief Khalsa Diwan Amritsar from the school premises.
